Lotus Herbals Pomegranate and Plum Energizing Skin Polisher Review

This is for  you Varshini :)
I got this skin polisher about two weeks ago. I actually did not plan to get this skin polisher. I went to get the Lotus Whitening Scrub as it was said to be good. But they did not have it and the SA showed me this. They have two sizes Rs 155 for 50gms and Rs 245 for 100 gms. I got the smaller one.

What the company claims:

Gently removes dead cells and rejuvenates skin. Its deep detoxification re-enrgises the skin and imparts a cleanfresh look.

Pomegranate: Moisturising and skin renewal properties.
Plum: Rich in anti oxidants

Results: Reduces finelines and combats ageing to reveal luminous skin.

Directions: Gently apply the polisher on moistened skin with brisk circular movements on the face and neck. Rinse throughly and pat dry. Use everyday for younger looking and luminous skin.

My thoughts:
Comes in a cute packaging. It is really attractive.
The first thing once I opened the tub is smelled it. And the smell is yuck!!. Ok this is atleast for me. It smells like rotten plums. I really din't like it.
Inside it looks like mixed fruit jam with some granules.

The granules are very small. I think it must be the pomegranate seeds crushed. I followed the directions to use it. And the polisher is neither too thick or runny. It is perfect for you to pick it up and apply. The granules are very small and so it does not hurt your skin. The cream get absorbed into the skin like water and you are just left with the granules on the face. After massaging for a minute or two I washed it off. It cleans your face nicely. I did not have the sticky or soapy feeling like the other scrubs do. Feels very natural on the skin. It removed my dead cells and black heads too. I felt my skin glowing and soft. I really like it.

Pros:
Comes in a pretty packaging which I like.
Easy to apply the cream.
The granules are not harsh on the skin.
Washes off easily. No soapy or Sticky feeling.
Feels like using the real pomegranate seeds on your skin.
Removes dead cells and blackheads.
Skin feels soft and glowing.
Can be used everyday.

Cons:
I hate the smell. I think this won't be a problem for many.
Comes is form of tub. Many may not like it. I am ok with it.
The granules are not very fine and can irritate people with very sensitive skin.

I rate this 4/5. -1 for the smell.

Overall a good porduct that gives good results on my skin.
I do recommend others to give it a try.

Luv,
Indgal.

Nivea Pearly Shine Lip Care Review

I wanted to get the Nivea fruity shine Lip Balm and found this. The Packaging really attracted me. So I had to get it. Price. Rs. 158/-

What the company Claims: (From the website)

Do you want soft lips with a natural pearly shimmer?
With a hint of rose and a pearly shimmer, NIVEA Pearly Shine lip balm enhances the beauty of your lips. This new formula with precious pearl and silk extracts stores long lasting moisture while natural oils soften and condition. A creamy treat that leaves your lips velvety soft and silky smooth.
  • Leaves your lips irresistibly silky smooth and well protected against chapping due to dryness
  • Brings out the natural beauty of your lips with a sweet pearly shine
Dermatologist tested.
NIVEA - for lips that love to talk, smile, laugh and kiss.
My thoughts on the product.
I love the packaging. Very attractive. It has this light pink shiny tint to it.

I like the shine it gives to my lips.

But it doesn't moisturize that much. Does not take care of the chapped lips. Gives a frosty look when applied more coats. So you need to stay on with just one coat. It dries my skin. According to me an average product.
Likes
Love the pretty pink packaging.
Gives a nice shimmery pink color tint to the lips.
Has SPF 10.
Dislikes:
Does not moisturize or soften the lips.
Dries out my lips.
Gives frosty look when applied more than one coat.
Will I repurchase? No. This one is enough for me.
Any suggestions on how I can use it any other way?

Chanthik Herbal Skin Treatment Review

Chanthik Herbal Skin Treatment is my HG face pack. I don't think many of the people will know about this brand. I think may be South Indians will know about it.

My mom introduced Chanthik to me when i was in school. This is a face pack that helps to give you that instant glow to your face. This Face pack is available in the market for more than 30 years now. My Mom used it even before her wedding in her days to get that glowing skin. Very economical you can get about 50 gms pack for just 53 Rs in TN. How cool is that?? In other states it is priced at 55 Rs. There is even a bigger pack that comes for 80 or 90 Rs. It comes in a carton box.

My Take on the product

It has got a simple packing. Comes with handy container. The powder comes in packet stored inside the container. I cut the cover and store in the container. You won't be able to use the powder with the cover on.

It has got a nice mild smell to it. Purely herbal. The pack claims 100% herbal. I believe it too.

What it Claims:

you can click the pictures to enlarge them
How to use it:

It contains:

What I Like:

The first fact is I love the smell. Very herbal.
The Powder is very soft and light.

I use it with milk. You can even use it with just water. Both way works fine. With Milk it gives good moisturizing too.
I have even tried it with rose water and honey. Any way it works effectively.
Dries really fast. You do not have to sit for hours with this pack. Maximum time you will need is just aorund 15 minutes. Do not leave it too long can make your skin very tight.
Washing the face pack is very simple. Just use normal water it will come off easy. You wont need buckets of water.
Does not leave any slippery cast like many face packs do.
Skin becomes very soft.
Your skin actually glows. I really can feel that.
Your skin feels refreshed after using the face pack. I work from home now and this helps me to get the tiredness of my face after sitting in front of my laptop for hours.
The pores looks smaller.
Pigmentation really reduces.
Removes Tan
Prickley heat problems also reduce. Great during summers.
I can't comment on acne problems, as I do not have them.
Definitely doesn't breakout.
You can use it every day. I use it as a evening face pack.
Not expensive.
Comes in a container, so storing is easy. You can even take it with your during travel.
Whenever any other skin care product fails me, this is what I turn to. I love it very much.

Not so good factor:
I do not have any cons with this.
But availabilty is a problem. Do not know whether it is available in North India.
I found that you can get it online from these sites.
http://emporiumonnet.com/beauty_health/chanthik/Chanthik-Herbal-Skin-Treatment.html

http://www.thejamushop.com/acne_Chanthik_powder.htm

This gets 5/5 from me.

Will I repurhcase?

Of course, I love it. Been using it for a long time now.

I also recommend others to try it at least once.

Luv,
Indgal.

Himalaya Under Eye Cream Review

I have dark circles. One reason is heredity and the other is irregular sleep patterns after my son's birth. The dark circles worsened after my delivery. I earlier tried biotique Under eye cream two years back it costed around 300 Rs. But did not give any effective results. The same happened with Garnier Eye roll on. I had irritation with the use of the pen. Then dint try any eye creams. When Himalaya introduced this eye cream I was tempted to get it. The price was even more tempting. So I got it last March, but couldn't use it regularly, with a new born at home. Now as my son has completed One year and me at least trying to get back to full 7 to 8 hours of sleep started using it and I must say I am liking it very much.

What it claims:
(From the website)
Himalaya Under Eye Cream is for naturally beautiful eyes. It contains proven & safe blend of herbs specially created to care for the delicate area around your eyes. It prevents  the formation of under eye dark circles.

Himalaya Under Eye Cream clears under eye circles, pigmentation and blemishes. It also brightens & smoothens the areas around your eyes.

Visible Results:
  • Reduces dark circles by 80% in just 4 weeks
  • Reduces under eye wrinkles & fine lines by 28% in just 4 weeks
  • Brightens & smoothens eye contour

Ingredients Include:

  • Cipadessa baccifera
  • Bergenia ligulata
  • Triticum vulgare

Usage:

Gently massage into the delicate area beneath the eyes after thorough cleansing. Use it once a day before going to bed.

I do see difference in my eyes. my eyes does look more bright and the dark circles have reduced. Price Rs.150/-

What I Like
Comes in a tube this makes the use of the cream hygienic, the nozzle is tiny so you will be able to take only the needed amount.

The cream is light and so blends well. You need to massage the cream in circular motions that it very refreshing for the tired eyes.
No heavy smell.
Does not feel sticky near the eyes.
You will need only less amount for both the eyes. So one tube will go a long way.

Since I massage after working late night, i feel I am getting better sleep with use of the eye cream.
Skin lightens as claimed. For me having dark circles as heredity, I find my eyes looks better with the use of the cream. So I think it will work great for people who have temporary circles.
Reduces puffiness too.

What I do not like:
It does not do any thing on my wrinkles or fine lines.
You need to use it regularly to get effective results, which I find it difficult to follow : p
I am not able to find any other cons.

Overall I love this eye cream.

Will I repurchase it?
Well, this is going to get over, I am planning to get Aroma Magic Eye Gel, hearing very good reviews about it. So will try that first, if it doesn't work will get back to Himalaya Eye Cream.

So have you tried this cream? did you like it?

Luv,
Indgal.

Last Sunday visited Fabindia for the first time. I went to the T.Nagar branch. Well the place is very small according to me. Pond's White Beauty Daily Spot less Lightening Cream Review

Ponds as been a favorite brand of my Mom. She always gets the cold cream during winters. So i was looking for a good Day cream that will help in removing my tan problems. I heard many using Ponds White Beauty. Some people said it made them feel fresh and bright. My skin becomes very dry in winters and normal skin in summers.  I got this last month.

The packging is very attractive. The Price is Rs. 100 for 50gm. The fragrance is mild. The cream is a nice thick cream.

What I like:

Love the packing. Comes in a sturdy glass jar.
Nice mild fragrance.
Cream is thick.
Feels good when applied on skin.
It does give a glowing face.
Has Pro vitamin B3 abd Multiple Uv protection.

What I dint Like:

Ok first of this is the first cream that caused me red spots on my skin. I do not  have a sensitive skin or acne problems. Still within three days of use of this cream by skin had many red spots and felt irritated.
It does not blend that well. I had  a hard time blending it on my skin.
I leaves a white cast on your face.
As you can see in this picture, it leaves a white cast.

It dries my skin.
I even tried using it as a hand cream. When I used the cream and went out in the sun, my hand also got these red spots. So I have stopped using it now.
For me this is a waste of money : (

Wooden Toys from Karaneeswarar Temple Chithirai Thiruvizha- Part 2

Here are the other toys that I got from the same shop as that I have previously posted here.

This is a wooden Ferris Wheel which attracted the most.

Another angle of the ferris wheel...

I like the people sitting in the ferris wheel, they look so cute....

It has a handle at the side that we can use and spin the ferris wheel, My son loves this the most.
Price is Rs. 200.

This is a top that we got price is Rs. 25

And for all this shopping the shop keeper din't even let us bargain, instead gave this cute little key chain free....

He even said that the shop were these products are made in Mylapore near the kabalishwarar Temple. I thinking of the visiting the place. But he din't mention the shop name, I need to go and search it...

That is all for now,
