Hi Beauties,

I have been wanting to write a review on this for a such a long time. But just not got the time :P Anyway, who doesn't love face packs. I love it because its a great way to pamper your skin and you can also relax a while from the crazy life you live in :P Today, I am reviewing Omved Taruni Skin Pack Review. The best part about this face pack is that it is free from Parabens, sulphates, silicones, glycols, phthalates, synthetic colors or perfumes. How awesome is that???

What is claims:

Proprietary ayurvedic medicine Omved Taruni Skin Pack is a nutrient-rich herbal mud pack to help you enjoy a younger, smoother and brighter complexion.

My thoughts:

This pack comes in a foil packing. I would loved if it would have come in a plastic container. Much easier for storage. As per instructions, I store it in refrigerator. This a powder face pack that you need to mix with water and apply it. The powder is a little grainy and this is great because you can use it doubles up as a scrub plus face pack. The smell is herbal. Which I like. I find the smell to be relaxing. I do not know if all will like the smell.  I simply apply it and leave it to dry. And then remove with water. Then I have super soft and glowing skin. 

I really like the fact that is very simple to use. It is not a pack that specifies you to mix other products such as  milk or any other ingredient. Its just mix it water and apply. Very simple and yet very effective in giving results.    I don't think that this will remove sun tan, it doesn't claim so either. Though its a mud pack it did not dry my skin. Trust me, I have normal to dry skin. I follow with Omved Moisturiser and I love the effects. The brightness is there for two days. 

 

The price is another added advantage of this product. Its is priced at Rs.120 for 25gms of product. Some may think its pricey for the amount of product you get. But you will need very little amount for your whole face and neck. So this can last a really long time. Being free from so many harmful components, I am not complaining :D

Its a simple pack that gives good results. I like it. I am impressed with Omved products I have. After trying the products, I also ordered for Ultra Light Day and Night Moisturiser and I love it. I will review it soon.

You are lucky girl Sathya, you don't have to be particular about getting products that may not suit your skin. Since you have normal skin you can try any products and most of the products will work for you. The darkness in your face can be due to sun tan or stress. Yes over stress can make you dull.

You need to find ways to replenish your tired and dull skin. Use a good and energizing face pack to revitalize your skin. My suggestions for face pack, are go for home made ones. Best is honey face packs to get glowing and moisturized skin. Read here to know more about using Honey in your face packs.

Ponds Pure White Deep Cleansing Face wash- Very drying in my opinion. But helps to remove dust and grime after a long day out. I use it only when my face is really dirty.

These are the best till day I have tried.

Honey in skincare- Simple Face pack Recipes for Glowing Skin

Today I am going to share with about one of my most favorite skincare product. Yes its honey. I love using honey for facepacks. This tip I got from my mom. While going to college and working I used to travel by two wheeler. So pollution used to make my skin very dull. My mom will suggest to apply honey for a few minutes and wash off. Then magic happens. My skin becomes fresh and bright. From then for any occasion I used to apply honey to get good brightening effect on my skin. Then I began to try many other face packs using honey.

I love honey. The best part about using honey is it very moisturising. And it does not feel sticky when you remove it too.

Honey's natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties and ability to absorb and retain moisture have been recognised and used extensively in skin care treatments as they help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays and rejuvenate depleted skin. Honey is also often used to treat acne, either dabbed directly on spots or as a face mask, and has been used successfully to treat diabetic foot ulcers.

The Myth:
Everytime I say to my friends I use honey and suggest to them, they give a look like Whaaat??? They used to tell me that when honey is applied on your hair it will turn grey. This is a complete myth. I have used honey for both skincare and hair care. I have never faced such a issue. Infact honey is a great conditioner to use for your hair. It will help you tame your frizz and gives moisture.

Face pack recipes:
These some of the face packs tried by me.

1. Only honey: Yes. A very simple face pack. Apply honey all over your face and neck avoiding your eye area. Leave it for some time and wash off. This will give your clean and soft skin. Great for people with dry skin. You can use this as a everyday cleanser. Regular use of honey will help to brighten your skin tone.

2. Honey and Sugar Scrub: One of the best winter scrubs I must say. Very simple but results are amazing. Mix honey and sugar, apply all over your face. You can leave it for 5 to 10 minutes or use circular motions to make sugar work on your skin. Wash off.  If sugar crystals are abrasive just crush it a bit.

3. Honey and Oats face pack : One of the best. Grind oats in a blender not smooth but into smaller granules, mix it with honey and apply as a face pack. Wipe off. You will look brighter and your skin super soft.

4. Honey and Chocolate Pack: Can anything can get better than this?? If you have dark chocolate melt it and bring it to room temperature. Always melt chocolate in double boiler method. Mix honey with the melted chocolate and apply on your face. But be quick in mixing because once you leave chocolate to cool down it will become hard. Using dark chocolate gives effective results because it is rich in antioxidants. The smell of chocolate will help you calm down. Dont get too tempted to lick chocolate from your face :P
 Dont have dark chocloate??? No worries. Simply use cocoa powder with honey and get the same effects :)

5. Honey, Oats and Chocolate Pack : Another tempting face pack. Just add ground oats to the above mix. Oats will act as a scrub. Therefore it is a 2 in 1 face pack.

I always use any of these packs when I am tired or depressed. I am total chocoholic. Honey and Chocolate helps to calm my senses :)

Aroma Magic Glossy Pack Review

I went to get the mineral glow scrub and the SA said this Glossy Pack works great on Pigmentaion and dark circles. I suffer  from pigmentation post pregnancy. The work stress is making it worse. Right now searching for good products to get rid of it. So when the SA said it works wonders I had to get it. The Price of the Glossy Pack is Rs. 215 for 50 gms. I got is for Rs. 209.

What it Claims:
A special formulation of essential oils & herbal extracts that lighten pigmentation, dark circles around the eyes, acne scars & skin tone.Also helps to brighten dark & sallow complexion.


Directions for use:
To lighten pigmentation apply on the pigmented areas and scars for 20 minutes and rinse off. To lighten dark circles apply Under Eye Gel or Seaweed Pack under the eyes, then apply Glossy Pack. Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse off. For sallow complexion apply on face and rinse off after 20 minutes. Apply Aroma Magic Fairy Lotion, Sunscreen and Almond Moisturizing Lotion.


My thoughts:
The packaging is simple. It is a wet pack. The pack is a dark green pack. The smell is somewhat herbal. The smell is not overpowering. The pack is not thick or watery. So it is easy to apply. It dries very quickly. Removing the pack is a pain if you are going to use water. The best way to remove the pack is with a wet sponge. Since the face pack contains essential oils it is not drying.

Well according to me it is an average product. It gives a nice glow to the face. But it does not remove the pigmentation or dark circles. When you use the face pack regularly the pigmentation seems to reduce. When you miss to use it even a day, the pigmented areas looks dark. So it does not lighten the pigmentation completely.

What I Like:
Easy to apply.
Dries off quickly.
Does not dries out the skin.
Smell is not strong.
Suitable for all skin types.
Makes your skin bright.
Gives a nice refreshing look.

What I don't like:
Does not remove pigmentation or dark circles.
You will need lot of water to remove the pack. You can use a wet sponge to remove the pack completely and then wash your face.
Some may not like the oily feel it gives after washing the face.
I think the price is high for a 50 gms pack as it does not give promising results.

Will i repurchase: No. Does not do the work it promises to do.

Chanthik Herbal Skin Treatment Review

Chanthik Herbal Skin Treatment is my HG face pack. I don't think many of the people will know about this brand. I think may be South Indians will know about it.

My mom introduced Chanthik to me when i was in school. This is a face pack that helps to give you that instant glow to your face. This Face pack is available in the market for more than 30 years now. My Mom used it even before her wedding in her days to get that glowing skin. Very economical you can get about 50 gms pack for just 53 Rs in TN. How cool is that?? In other states it is priced at 55 Rs. There is even a bigger pack that comes for 80 or 90 Rs. It comes in a carton box.

My Take on the product

It has got a simple packing. Comes with handy container. The powder comes in packet stored inside the container. I cut the cover and store in the container. You won't be able to use the powder with the cover on.

It has got a nice mild smell to it. Purely herbal. The pack claims 100% herbal. I believe it too.

What I Like:

The first fact is I love the smell. Very herbal.
The Powder is very soft and light.

I use it with milk. You can even use it with just water. Both way works fine. With Milk it gives good moisturizing too.
I have even tried it with rose water and honey. Any way it works effectively.
Dries really fast. You do not have to sit for hours with this pack. Maximum time you will need is just aorund 15 minutes. Do not leave it too long can make your skin very tight.
Washing the face pack is very simple. Just use normal water it will come off easy. You wont need buckets of water.
Does not leave any slippery cast like many face packs do.
Skin becomes very soft.
Your skin actually glows. I really can feel that.
Your skin feels refreshed after using the face pack. I work from home now and this helps me to get the tiredness of my face after sitting in front of my laptop for hours.
The pores looks smaller.
Pigmentation really reduces.
Removes Tan
Prickley heat problems also reduce. Great during summers.
I can't comment on acne problems, as I do not have them.
Definitely doesn't breakout.
You can use it every day. I use it as a evening face pack.
Not expensive.
Comes in a container, so storing is easy. You can even take it with your during travel.
Whenever any other skin care product fails me, this is what I turn to. I love it very much.

Not so good factor:
I do not have any cons with this.
But availabilty is a problem. Do not know whether it is available in North India.
